SummaryThe primary responsibility of this position is supporting the SBPS Department & DrPH Program in meeting the academic and administrative needs of advanced-level DrPH students. Key components include tracking student progress through the Applied Practice Experience (APE) and Integrated Learning Experience (ILE) processes, coordinating with APE/ILE professors of record set up Canvas sites and maintain necessary documentation, assisting with formal-signature tracking, and ensuring all APE/ILE student-steps are completed. This role works closely with the DrPH Academic Advisor and DrPH Program Manager to ensure that APE/ILE completions are recognized in the degree audit and by the Registrar, contributing to the timely graduation of DrPH students. Proficiency with digital tools is essential for managing these tasks efficiently.
In addition to academic-administrative tracking, this role integrates various essential functions to support the broader goals of the SBPS Department & DrPH Program. This position will be charged in creating a database of DrPH APE site placements, preceptor information, and DrPH alumni-- creating a network of valuable contacts to benefit both current and future students. Relatedly, this position will be responsible for the sourcing and managing both the SBPS & DrPH Speaker Series, ensuring all events have a robust virtual component and managing all logistical aspects-- from securing speakers to coordinating technical support. This position will also assist SBPS faculty and students with the Concur Travel & Reimbursement platform, creating documentation, and troubleshooting issues to facilitate smooth travel and reimbursement processes. Additional SBPS department assistance may be requested on an as-needed basis for projects or initiatives requiring additional administrative help.
This position will report to the SBPS Senior Department Administrator while also working closely with the DrPH Program Manager. The dual reporting structure ensures that this position is well-integrated into both the department and the program, facilitating cohesive support and collaboration. The work schedule for this position can be partially remote & flexible within Tulane full-time schedule requirements but occasional evening availability is required.
* Bachelor's Degree & two years' experience related to program coordination and/or project & event management that included tasks geared towards the general public.OR* High School Diploma/Equivalent & six years' experience related to experience related to program coordination and/or project & event management that included tasks geared towards the general public.
Preferred Qualifications* Two or more years of administrative experience within a post-secondary, academic institution-ideally with a student-facing focus* Familiarity with Public Health as a field-either through degree attainment (BPH, MPH, DrPH, Phd) or work experience* Proficiency with systems in use at Tulane University-ex.
