Employment Status: Full-Time (.75 or greater)
Hours per Pay Period: 0.90 = 72 hours (Non-Exempt)
Starting Wage DOE: 17.00 - 21.25

*May be eligible for $2,000 sign on incentive*

Provide care and close supervision of patients. Document patient behaviors provide crisis intervention as necessary and implement individualized treatment plans while following Billings Clinic policies and procedures. Work as part of the interdisciplinary team and assist in maintaining a safe environment for both patients and staff.

Essential Job Functions

• Ensure that patients and their environment are safe. Complete patient and environmental safety observations on assigned unit. Attentive to possible issues on the unit due to escalating behaviors or environmental factors and report concerns to Charge nurse.
• Provide patient care and assist with ADLs as needed such as personal hygiene, toileting, bathing, transferring, and eating. Daily task assignments may include height, weight, vital signs and obtaining blood glucose levels. Document the care provided in a timely and accurate manner per Billings Clinic guidelines.
• Communicate effectively and provide age appropriate care to adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.
• Demonstrate appropriate judgment and emotional stability when encountering stressful and non-stressful situations. Exhibit calm demeanor when de-escalating patients. Implement crisis prevention and de-escalation approved techniques beginning with least restrictive intervention followed with more restrictive interventions as necessary. May include lifting, bending or holding to assist patients.
• Facilitate and supervise patient groups of an educational or supportive purpose. Encourage patient participation in milieu activities and plan of care.
• Demonstrate accurate and timely documentation for all patient care provided through completion of applicable charting.
• Assist with admissions by checking in patient belongings and gathering their belongings upon discharge.
• Maintains a safe and clean environment for patients and staff members.
• Maintains confidentiality and acts in accordance with HIPPA policy and procedure.
• Performs routine clerical work including filing, chart maintenance, paperwork coordination and effectively using the phone system.
• Contributes to individual treatment plans as part of the treatment team. Comprehends program specifics and therapeutic purpose for each group. Makes essential judgments related to patient needs and progress. Seeks out consultations and information from other team members and gives input into team decisions.
• Participates in process improvement. Actively provides feedback to other team members and gives input into team decisions.
• Models patient service excellence (PSE) and provides quality customer service care when engaging with patients, family members and other staff members.
• Acts as a resource, role model and mentor. Responds appropriately to questions and assists with problem resolution.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

• High School or GED

Experience

• 6 months training or direct experience in the mental health or related human services field with demonstrated ability and skills to work therapeutically with patients, preferred

Certifications and Licensures

• CPR at hire
