OSU Harding Hospital provides the most comprehensive behavioral healthcare services for adults, older adults, children and adolescents in central Ohio. We offer more treatment options and a more experienced and diversified staff than any other psychiatric or behavioral healthcare provider in the area. All of our outpatient services include a comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis from a qualified clinician and implementation of an individualized treatment plan. We offer specialized evidence-based services for patients experiencing Mood and Anxiety Disorders, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Psychosis, Trauma- and Stress-Related Disorders, and Sexual Dysfunction. We offer specialty programs in Women's Behavioral Health, Psychosis, Treatment-resistant Depression, Addictions, Trauma, and Neurocognitive Disorders. The Psychotherapist serves as a critical part of our clinical team; they are an independent provider who functions within the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team to provide psychotherapy. The clinical emphasis for this position will be on SUICIDE PREVENTION and TRAUMA.
POSITION SUMMARY
Clinical and education position, including, but not limited to:
- Provide comprehensive diagnostic evaluation for patients with mental health complaints.
- Provide psychotherapy to individuals with mental & behavioral disorders to facilitate return to previous or improved functioning. Services provided include individual psychotherapy, group psychotherapy, and/or couple/family therapy.
- Formulate individualized treatment plans to assist patients to determine and meet treatment goals.
Other duties include advocating within local community if needed; work as part of clinical team; maintain third-party payer relationships; and complete all necessary paperwork (e.g., disability, FMLA).Minimum Qualifications
For Hire: Master's Degree in Social Work or Counseling; Independent Ohio license to practice (i.e., LISW, LPCC) is required. A minimum of two years of experience working with patients with mental illness and/or substance use disorders is also required. Experience and/or training in cognitive-behavioral therapy is required.
Ongoing: Maintain licensure(s), credentials, and CBLs. Practice within the parameters of the Ohio Counselor and Social Work Board. Training in at least one evidence-based psychotherapy modality (e.g., cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal psychotherapy) will be required.Patient Population Served: ADULTS AGES 16+. Knowledge of growth and development and an understanding of the range of treatments necessary to meet the age-specific needs of the patient population served is required. In addition, knowledge of and comfort in working with clients and their families/support systems with diverse racial and cultural backgrounds who are experiencing severe emotional illness and are either at risk for inpatient psychiatric hospitalization, or are transitioning back to the community from inpatient hospitalizationOrganizational Expectations: Practices within Wexner Medical Center at the Ohio State University's policies and procedures. Adheres to the Intensive Caring Value statements as demonstrated through positive patient/guest relations, positive and effective interactions with staff, and formulating and meeting developmental goals.

Work Environment: The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices and meeting rooms (i.e. use of safe work practices, avoidance of trips and falls, and observance of fire regulations and traffic signs). Employees are required to wear personal protective attire, according to hospital policies and OSHA guidelines. The work environment also involves risks associated with the use of computers.
