Salary: $60,000.00 USD Annually - $80,000.00 USD Annually
Description:
Summary of Functions:

Oversees the procurement of all inventory, supplies, and capital goods for the company, including negotiating prices, delivery schedules, and credit terms. Evaluates vendors to determine the most cost-effective inventory and reorder levels.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Efficiently manage the purchasing of inventory, supplies, and capital equipment.
• Review and verify purchase requisitions for accuracy and authorization; source new vendors as needed.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders; negotiate prices, delivery schedules, and credit terms; adhere to company policies and procedures; maintain accurate purchasing records.
• Evaluate, assess, and select vendors based on their capabilities, performance, and quality assurance.
• Maintain good working relationships with vendors and keep accurate vendor records.
• Assess inventory reorder levels and quantity price breaks to determine the most economical purchasing options in relation to the company's cost of capital.
• Prepare monthly reports and review forecasts of purchasing commitments.
• Coordinate with the Production Scheduler to ensure timely delivery of purchased items for uninterrupted manufacturing flow.
• Responsible for global sourcing and vendor selection.
• Actively participate in the quality assurance process and provide related reports.
• Comply with all safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality of company information.

Organizational Relationships:

Reports to the Plant Manager. Coordinates activities with all departments, working closely with Manufacturing, Accounts Payable, and Receiving.

Educational or Skill Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years' purchasing experience.
• Creative problem solver with strong analytical skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
• Experience with common MRP software applications.
• Proven experience in procurement, sourcing, and vendor management.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit, stand, stoop, and carry up to 15 lbs.
• Capable of performing repetitive hand movements and visual tasks necessary for office work at a computer.
