JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Summary:
Act as the issuer of Safe Work Permits for the Facilities Management group for work performed on Facilities equipment, in order to deliver services on behalf of Newmark and Dow. This position is accountable for performing all assigned duties, in an effective and professional manner, and must be able to work effectively in a team environment. Must be able to perform all essential functions corresponding to routine department including but not limited to:

Essential Job Duties:

  • Issue and monitor Safe Work Permits for suppliers, adhering to Newmark NKF and Dow EH&S requirements
  • Ensure all contractors have the required safety training prior to working onsite
  • Assist contractors with any obstacles to ensure the work is completed on time
  • Abide by all site emergency plans and procedures
  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions
  • Conform with all safety rules and use all appropriate safety equipment
  • Prepare equipment for work by others (Isolation of energy sources)
  • Complete needed training and assessments to gain Delegation of Authority for various roles and responsibilities.
  • Be able to demonstrate conflict resolution skills.
  • May perform other duties as assigned
Skills, Education and Experience:
  • High School or GED Equivalent.
  • 3-5 years relative Dow experience.
  • 1+ years of relevant facility support experience
  • Demonstrated working ability with Word, Excel and web-based applications.
  • Must have ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, procedure manuals, and routine reports and correspondence.
  • Must be able to prioritize and organize multiple simultaneous tasks to ensure timely and accurate completion.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Able to properly handle proprietary information.
  • Requires attention to detail.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
Certificates & Licensure:
  • Valid state-issued driver's license
  • Inhouse Lockout / Tagout certification (must be obtained within 3 months of hire if not available)
  • Inhouse Confined Space certification (must be obtained within 3 months of hire if not available)
