Your Role:

EMD Serono Research and Development Institute in Billerica, MA, is seeking a Senior Associate Scientist: Target discovery, Oncology to join our Target Discovery Research group. In this role you will apply functional genomic approaches, including CRISPR, siRNA and over-expression, to identify and validate targets for immuno-oncology therapy. This laboratory-based position offers the opportunity for a talented scientist to work at the forefront of cancer research within a research-based drug discovery company. In this role, the candidate is expected to collaborate closely with partner lines to support target discovery with a strong focus on tumor and tumor immunology.

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, or other Scientific discipline with 2 years of hands-on experience in cell-based assay

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in molecular biology techniques, such as PCR, qRT-PCR and western blotting
  • Experience with cancer cells and T cells, or other primary immune cells
  • Strong skills in CRISPR, siRNA and over-expression, including transfection, selection and characterization of cells with genetic manipulation
  • Hands-on experience with FACS analysis and sorting
  • Must have excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced dynamic environment
