POSITION: SENIOR CORPORATE ACCOUNTANT
LOCATION: DOWNTOWN CLEVELAND
INDUSTRY: MANUFACTURING
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Corporate Accountant to join a global, public manufacturing company in their corporate office in Downtown Cleveland. This person will be responsible for month end close, journal entries, general ledger, reconciliations, financial reporting, expenses, accruals and supporting annual budgets planning. Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing tasks, including preparing general ledger entries and month-end account reconciliations for cash, prepaid expenses, accruals, and intercompany accounts and transactions.
- Assist with external consolidated financial reporting, including Form 10-Q, Form 10-K, press releases, and government census reporting.
- Support internal consolidated financial reporting, planning, and analysis, including monthly internal reporting of financial statements and business metrics.
- Interface with internal and external auditors, ensuring Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
- Assist with accounting-related integration activities for newly acquired companies.
- Support the annual planning process.
- Assist with the Accounts Payable process.
- Contribute to special projects as needed, such as annual goodwill impairment testing.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with two to three years of relevant work experience.
- Proficiency in US GAAP and the ability to independently prepare accurate journal entries.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail and strong focus.
- Highly organized and efficient, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving and time management abilities.
