Volt is immediately hiring Senior Software Engineer in Richardson, TX.
As Senior Software Engineer, you will:
We are looking for Senior Java Software Engineer to support our teams in Richardson, Texas. You will have the opportunity to directly impact the world around you and contribute to classified programs and technologies you are passionate about. In this role, you will use your solid foundation in Java and experience working in a Linux environment to comprehend customer needs and translate those needs into viable design solutions.
What You Will Do:
• The Senior Java Software Engineer will design, develop, and maintain advanced software applications for our Satellite Ground Systems. This role involves close collaboration with systems engineers, hardware designers, and other software engineers to deliver reliable and high-performance software solutions. Other responsibilities to anticipate may include:
• Design, implement, and test Java-based applications and software components for satellite ground systems using JUnit for unit testing.
• Working with DevOps and CI/CD Pipelines
• Working with Jenkins and Python
• Working with previously written code and make modifications as necessary
• What are the main functions of this role? Software Design, Coding in Java, Unit testing, Integration in an Agile/Scrum/DevOps environment using a CI/CD pipeline and containerization.
• This will be an Agile team environment, but contributions are individual.
This is a 12 Month full time Contract or Contract to hire opportunity.
This position requires Active TS/SCI Clearance.
The Ideal candidate will have:
• Typically requires Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
• Five (5) years of experience in object-oriented software design and development using Java in a Linux environment and using unit testing tools (e.g., JUnit)
• Familiarity with Git and the Atlassian Tool suite o DevOps experience using Jenkins, Kubernetes and Docker
Qualifications We Prefer:
• Experience with UML/Design Patterns
• Security+ certification o AWS cloud experience or certification
• Automated test experience
Pay Range: $70.00 - $80.00 per hour.
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
