Job purpose

An Assembler is an integral part of the American Products team. The Assembly team works together to ensure the equipment is assembled in working order, with no defects, and ready to ship to the customer.

An assembler will be assigned to a part of the line, but may switch stations in the assembly process at manager or supervisor designation or request.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lifts, positions, and assembles both metal and plastic products using air, battery, and small hand tools, as required;
  • Packages finished products (boxes, palletizes, and wraps);
  • Follow technical instructions, interpret engineering blueprints and technical terms.
  • Discern quality of parts and materials used in production.
  • Follow company procedures for safety.
  • Test finished products for defects.
  • Maintain the tools used to create products.
  • Keep a clean and well-maintained workspace.

Qualifications

Education
  • High school diploma or GED preferred; not required

Specialized Knowledge and Experience
  • Ability to read and comprehend blue prints, shop floor documentation, customer specifications/diagrams, instructions provided by supervisors/managers.
  • Minimum of 1 year of related experience, in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Must have the mechanical aptitude to assemble products with high quality.

Safety is of utmost importance. All team members must observe safety procedures and use equipment and materials properly; must wear safety glasses and steel toe boots.
