ABS Group is supporting the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) with individuals who have specific technical expertise to conduct site inspections on sites with major damage (e.g., destroyed facilities; facilities with extensive damage; facilities with significant damage to mechanical, electrical and plumbing components, etc.) to document disaster-related damage. These individuals will conduct site inspections to validate infrastructure damage and record detailed damage descriptions during the inspection. This is a site-specific position, and candidates will need to be located in or willing to deploy to North Carolina, South Carolina, or Florida.

What You Will Do:

• Reviewing and analyzing professional architectural/engineering reports and designs or as-built plans
• Thoroughly documenting analyses in writing
• Developing scopes of work, including related code and standard requirements
• Validating applicant-provided scopes of work, including related code and standard requirements
• Developing and reviewing cost estimates
• Advising FEMA staff on the technical validity of claims presented under FEMA's arbitration process; should arbitration hearings occur, testify as an expert witness on FEMA's behalf

What You Will Need:
Education and Experience

  • 5 years in field of expertise (with an undergraduate degree) or 10 years in field of expertise, with a Professional Engineer (PE) License
Compensation Range : The daily per diem ranges between $68 - $80 contingent on location in addition to all allowed expenses (hotel, rental car, fuel, and laundry) being reimbursed and an hourly rate ranging between $55 - $80/hour depending on the Labor Category and position level for which you're selected.
