Job Title: Software Engineering Consultant (Contract-to-Hire)
Location: Des Moines, IA
Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineering Consultant for a contingent resource assignment with the potential for contract-to-hire. In this role, you will:
- Consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Software Engineering.
- Review and analyze multifaceted, large-scale, or long-term Software Engineering challenges requiring in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented elements.
- Contribute to the resolution of complex situations requiring a solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Strategically collaborate and consult with client personnel.
- 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work or consulting experience, training, military experience, or education.
- Proven ability to operate as the technical lead for a scrum team.
- Experience with .NET development and unit testing.
- Proficiency in SQL Server database and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
- Cloud-native application development experience with one of the following: Tanzu Application Service (TAS), Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or AWS.
- Experience with Angular or related UI frameworks.
- Proficiency in Python development and unit testing.
- Experience with Java development and unit testing.
- Spring Boot-based application development experience.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
- Experience with MongoDB or related NoSQL databases.
- Proficiency in Kafka or related data streaming technologies.
- Experience with cloud-native microservices development based on event-driven architecture.
- Understanding of Domain-Driven Design principles.
- Knowledge of application non-functional requirements, including monitoring (APM tools), logging (Splunk), and distributed tracing.
- Experience with decomposing monolith applications into microservices.
- Experience developing automated functional testing using the BDD technique.
