Educational and Experience Requirement:Associates degree in business, management, finance, accounting, marketing, counseling or a related field related field. Bachelor's degree preferred. Two years of experience in higher education, financial services, or a related field. Experience in an environment dealing with financial literacy education, financial counseling, and giving presentations preferred. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
Nature & Purpose of Position:
Serves in the Student Money Management department as a Personal Financial Coach to SHSU students and assists with designing and executing programing and presentations related to personal finance.
Counsels enrolled and prospective SHSU students regarding their personal and school finances. Assists with resolving financial issues. Provides Student Money Management services including coaching, presentations, workshops, and outreach to students in various areas of personal finance. Builds relationships with fraternities, sororities, clubs, organizations and faculty to promote financial wellness. Provides statistical and vital information to management team for various data. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Other Specifications:Maintains contacts with personnel. Requires a general knowledge of standard office functions. Requires good knowledge of procedures and practices. Must be able to use standard office software. Must be able to apply policies and procedures and solve routine problems of a repetitive nature.
Up to 100% of this position, over the fiscal year during off-peak periods, may be performed remotely as determined by the supervisor.
