IDR is seeking a Sr. Data Engineer to join one of our top clients in Schaumburg, IL. This role involves developing, maintaining, and supporting data pipelines to move data from enterprise applications to our client's data lake/warehouse analytical stores. Position Overview/Responsibilities for the Sr. Data Engineer:
- Develop, maintain, and support data pipelines to move data from enterprise applications to our client's data lake/warehouse analytical stores
- Collect and monitor metrics necessary to quantify system performance and forecast future capacity needs
- Collaborate closely with the Data Warehouse team and other Engineering teams to ideate and build solutions
Required Skills for Sr. Data Engineer:
- 8+ years of experience in BI Engineering and Data Engineering
- Experience in schema design for decision support, particularly dimensional data modeling, building data marts, data lakes, etc.
- Strong skills in SQL (query plan optimization, windowing functions, aggregate design for example)
- Experience with Data Modeling in Power Bi or Tableau
- Expertise in Snowflake, Postgres DB, Redshift, or Data Bricks
- Experience with PySpark (Python API for Apache Spark)
