Job Summary:

As the Senior Director, Global Technology, you will lead and manage our hardware, firmware, and software teams. This senior level role will be crucial in shaping the strategy, execution, and operational excellence of our engineering organization. The ideal candidate will have a track record of building and scaling high-performing engineering teams, with a strong focus on collaboration, innovation, and delivering impactful results.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the engineering strategy that aligns with our business goals. Ensure the alignment of hardware, firmware, and software teams to create cohesive product solutions.
• Team Management: Lead, mentor, and inspire engineering teams across hardware, firmware, and software domains. Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and professional growth.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product Management, Design, Operations, and other departments to ensure alignment on objectives and priorities. Drive effective communication and cooperation across teams.
• Product Development: Oversee the end-to-end development of new and existing products, from concept through launch, ensuring products meet quality, timeline, and budgetary goals.
• Process Optimization: Continuously improve engineering processes and practices to increase productivity, maintain high quality, and deliver on customer expectations.
• Resource Planning and Budgeting: Allocate resources effectively across teams, manage budget, and ensure teams are positioned to meet both immediate and long-term business goals.
• Risk Management: Identify potential risks in the product development lifecycle and implement strategies to mitigate them. Ensure robust testing and quality assurance practices.
• Technical Vision: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to keep the engineering organization at the forefront of technological advancements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing multiple engineering disciplines across multiple geographies.
• Proven experience managing and scaling hardware, firmware, and software teams in a fast-paced, high-growth environment across different geographies.
• Demonstrated success in delivering complex products to market and managing large-scale engineering projects from concept to completion.
• Strong understanding of agile development processes, product lifecycle management, and quality assurance.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a track record of building collaborative relationships across functions.
• A strategic thinker with the ability to dive deep into technical details and advocate for engineering excellence.

Preferred

• Experience with IoT product development
• Previous experience in engineering - software and embedded systems
• Experience with RF communication models such Cellular and LoRa/LoRaWAN
• Experience managing third-party vendors and contractors
• Experience in project management and execution
• Experience with cloud providers such as AWS and Azure
• Experience with large-scale manufacturing
