Staff Auditor, Fostoria, OH

Conducts independent internal audits of the Association's financial, operational, and compliance processes to ensure effective risk management, internal controls, and regulatory compliance under the supervision of the Director of Internal Audit.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts audits of operational, financial, and compliance areas within the Association's internal review program.
  • Conduct detailed reviews of financial transactions, accounting records, and supporting documentation.
  • Perform analytical procedures to identify anomalies and potential issues.
  • Execute audit procedures including data sampling, document review, and interviews with key personnel.
  • Prepare comprehensive audit reports detailing findings, recommendations, and action plans.
  • Follow up on corrective actions taken to address audit issues.
  • Advises and consults with Association departments and team members as needed and/or assigned.
  • Models the Association's core values and supports the Association's strategies.
  • Travels to and attends training programs as required relative to responsibilities.
  • Any other duties as needed and as assigned by the Director of Internal Audit and the Audit Committee.
  • Assists the Director of Internal Audit with the development of the annual audit plan.
  • Other duties, special projects and/or tasks as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Education and or experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, business management, finance, agricultural economics, or related field.
  • 2 to 5 years of relevant accounting or auditing experience.
  • Experience in Farm Credit preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with audit methodologies and risk-based auditing techniques.
  • Ability to establish priorities, take initiative, meet deadlines, adapt when needed, and make sound decisions and recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Skilled at assessing complex processes, identifying gaps, and proposing improvements.
  • Proven record of proactively identifying issues and proposing effective solutions.
  • Ability to build trust and maintain professional relationships across the Association.
  • Excellent computer literacy including use of electronic workpapers, audit software, and Microsoft Office.
  • High standards of honestly, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Working knowledge of laws, regulations, GAAP accounting principles, FCA regulations and Association and AgFirst policies and procedures.
  • Have or are willing to pursue specialized accreditations like certified internal auditor (CIA), certified fraud examiner (CFE), certified public accountant (CPA), or certified information systems auditor (CISA).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Negotiate and exercise positive interpersonal relations and communication in difficult situations.

  • Monday to Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm
