1Summary: Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking a full time Sterile Processing Technician or Sterile Processing Trainee for the Sterile Processing department. The Sterile Processing Technician collects, cleans, decontaminates, disinfects and/or sterilizes surgical instruments, trays and packs, reusable medical devices and patient care equipment according to established standards and procedures to ensure sterile and functioning supply of materials and equipment. The Sterile Processing Trainee is a trainee position. Incumbents will be engaged in trainee duties that may lead to the full performance level of a Sterile Processing Technician.

Salary range for the Sterile Processing Technician position is $39,215 - $48,294 which includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Salary range for the Sterile Process Technician Trainee position is $37,121 - $45,864 which includes a comprehensive benefits package.

The work shift is 3pm - 11:30pm.

Qualifications:Required Education and Experience

Certification Requirement
1. Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) from IAHCSMM (International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management); or
2. Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD); or
3. An equivalent certification from a nationally accredited central service technician credentialing organization recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Education and Experience
High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma.

NOTE:
Incumbents must obtain certification as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) from IAHCSMM (International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management); or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD); or an equivalent certification from a nationally accredited central service technician credentialing organization recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center within eighteen (18) months of appointment to this title as a condition of continued employment.

Preferred Qualifications

The preferred candidate will be CRCST or CBSPD certified and have sterile processing experience. The preferred candidate should have basic computer skills and have excellent communication skills.
