Nature & Purpose of Position:

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the identification of safety data sheets for laboratory chemicals.
• Assist in weekly inspections of waste storage areas to ensure integrity of waste containers.
• Assist in the preparation of universal waste for pickup by waste vendor.
• Assist in the testing of emergency showers and eyewashes.
• Prepare training rosters and training materials when necessary.
• Conduct monthly automated external defibrillators (AEDs) inspections.
• Conduct monthly fire extinguisher inspections.
• Conduct research regarding environmental, occupational, and research guidelines and regulations.
• Distribute new waste containers.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Other Requirements for the Position:

• Valid driver's license.
• Capable of lifting 50 lbs.
