POSITION TITLE: Student Employee, Planetarium and Digital Marketing Assistant
STATUS: Part-time
DEPARTMENT: Natural Sciences and Physical Education (NSPE)
DIVISION: Academic Affairs
REPORTS TO: Planetarium Coordinator/Department Chair
CLASSIFICATION: Non-exempt
MINIMIUM PAY RATE: $15.00 per hour
(This position is FWS Eligible)
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assist in the coordination/registration of the many Planetarium shows scheduled through the year.
2. Assist with setup/breakdown of events as needed.
3. Coordinate social media strategies to assist with outreach/awareness of Planetarium events.
4. Create visual displays, flyers, brochures, bulletin boards, and other promotional materials to market events.
5. Assist with general office duties as needed.
6. Perform related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. GPA of 2.0 or above.
2. Must be enrolled at JJC in at least 6 credit hours.
3. Interest in Science and/or Astronomy.
4. Some experience in digital marketing necessary.
5. Must be able to work well with others and K Through 8 students
6. Must be able to communicate effectively
7. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency.
2. Demonstrated multicultural competence.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
· Normal office physical demands.
WORKING CONDITIONS
· Duties are performed indoors in the usual office and/or outdoor environment.

Scheduled Weekly Hours: This is a student employee position that works around your class schedule. May work up to 20 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters. During summer and holiday breaks (Winter/Spring), may work up to 28 hours per week with supervisor approval.
