Systems Architect

Location: Hybrid with flexible in office days

The HR Systems Architect will be an integral part of the team that supports and enhances processes and systems, primarily with Workday, ADP, SAP, and Workbrain, for the Human Resources (HR) and Legal organizations.

The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex systems, with a particular focus on HR technologies (payroll, HCM, talent, time and attendance, workforce management, and benefits). This role demands a deep understanding of system architecture principles, HR expertise, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain Rehlko information systems and programs to enhance business effectiveness, solve problems, and create new opportunities to achieve business goals.
  • Prepare systems and program specifications, test criteria, project control, and management reporting.
  • Architect, design, and build software solutions through development and/or configuration.
  • Develop and monitor policies, procedures, and standards documents.
  • Write and execute scripts to control the execution of systems.
  • Collaborate with business team management and end users to understand system requirements and solutions.
  • Direct, schedule, motivate, and coordinate the activities of other IT staff, end users, and vendor partners as needed.
  • Provide timely support to end users by responding to incidents and requests.
  • Coordinate systems enhancement activities.
  • Act as a mentor to Systems Analysts.
  • Demonstrate a high level of competence in system design and program coding.
Functional Skills:
  • Provide competent and positive leadership on systems projects, including those with significant cross-functional content.
  • Control project scope, schedule, and quality within the defined budget to meet objectives.
  • Offer analysis, counsel, and direction to business partners when analyzing issues and developing solutions.
  • Ensure the efficient operation of new and existing systems and applications.
  • Maintain an understanding of business processes and the implications of technology on these processes.
  • Assist, direct, schedule, coordinate, and evaluate the efforts of end users and vendor personnel assigned to systems projects.
  • Utilize appropriate resources across the organization to meet project goals and priorities.
  • Lead and own the architectural design of complex systems, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical requirements.
  • Oversee the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), from initial planning through to deployment and maintenance.
  • Provide inputs for project review meetings and management presentations, including architecture and design reviews, project scheduling, test plans, system and program tactics and methods, system controls, procedures, documentation, and system implementation plans.
  • Provide project status updates.
  • Comply with Systems Development standards, procedures, guidelines, priorities, and schedules.
  • Utilize software architecture design patterns.
  • Develop detailed functional program specifications.
  • Create system documentation and user procedures, including end-user mapping.
  • Prepare test data and test plans.
  • Coordinate and perform system testing.
  • Coordinate and perform system and program implementation and modification.
  • Research systems and programs to determine causes of failure or poor operational performance; define, test, and implement detailed solutions.
  • Participate in educational programs and professional societies related to analysis, leadership skills, computing technology, and systems methodologies.
  • Conduct educational programs for company associates related to new and existing technology applications.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills/Requirements

Preferred Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, related field or equivalent experience.
Extensive IT Experience:
  • 9 years+ of IT experience, including a minimum of 5 years in system design, architecture development, and technical leadership roles for HR solutions within a global company or in a consulting capacity.
  • Highly advanced technical skills are essential.
Implementation Expertise:
  • At least 5 years of experience in implementing medium to large-scale HR modules, preferably with Workday, ADP, SAP, SAP HR Mini Master, and Workbrain.
Technical Proficiency:
  • Demonstrated expertise and a proven track record of accomplishments in multiple IT technology areas.
  • Advanced knowledge of integrating various technologies.
Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in the software development life cycle (SDLC), cloud technologies, Design Thinking, Agile methodology and business processes.
Desirable Experience:
  • Experience with applications such as MuleSoft, Azure Data Lake, and bswift is highly desirable.

The salary range for this position is $107,650 - $137,150.00. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
