JOB DESCRIPTION: Parts Coordinator
LOCATION: Houston, TX
GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
The Parts Coordinator is part of the Equipment Division, working with service managers, mechanics and related staff toward a common goal. The position works in a fast-paced environment and is responsible for ordering parts, creating purchase orders, processing invoices, developing and maintaining relationships with vendors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Procuring parts, materials, and supplies for the service department.
- Creating purchase orders and processing invoices.
- Maintaining and developing relationships with equipment dealers, manufacturers, current and new vendors.
- Assuring timely deliveries to mechanics and vendors.
- Utilizing computer software programs.
- Other duties as assigned.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources and Safety.
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- 2+ years of related experience. Preference will be given to those with industry experience.
- Experience with commercial trucks and/or heavy equipment is preferred, but not required.
- Effective communication skills are required. Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred, but not required.
- Moderate to high level of computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
