This position is responsible for all material related processes associated with moving materials efficiently to the production floor from staging or storage and then moving finished goods out of the production area. The individual must be able to communicate with several different functions within the facility and also possess strong organization skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities. This position will lead quality, delivery, productivity and simplification activities.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Experience: 1-2 years inventory management, or material handling experience.
Travel: 0-10% based on company need
Work Schedule: This position works between the hours of 6 am and 6 pm, Monday through Friday. Overtime may be required. Ability to work a flexible schedule is necessary.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- All previous classification requirements must be continually satisfied.
- Train, Coach and Mentor employees inside the receiving department.
- Support facility and department guidelines, processes, and SOP's.
- Collaborates with managers and other departments to develop and modify material inventory processes and procedures.
- Provides input on supplier performance to materials / supply chain team leadership.
- Actively maintains 5S principles throughout work area.
- Ensure proper safety procedures are followed at all times.
- Ensures procedures are followed to properly backflush material from inventory.
- Communicate with Receiving to ensure prompt delivery of urgent materials to the production cell.
- Continuously investigate improvements to efficiently move and track materials through the production facility.
- Work with manufacturing and supply chain to identify fluctuations in material consumption and adjust inventory as needed.
- Provides input on supplier performance to materials / supply chain team leadership.
- Communicate with Shipping when production status could impact scheduled shipments.
- Actively participates in Faith's hiring referral and mentoring program, as appropriate.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned
