Position Summary:

Install, troubleshoot, repair and perform preventative maintenance in a safe and compliant manner on a wide variety of manufacturing equipment and utility systems. Requires strong mechanical, electrical, and control systems skills. Familiarity with a regulated manufacturing environment is a plus.

Potential responsibilities could include write up, management and execution of preventive maintenance on generators, air compressors, water for injection skids, chillers, air handling units, cooling towers and boilers to ensure a reliable Utility supply, and inspecting and repairing motors, automation and lube oil systems.

Position Responsibilities:

• (Near-term) Responsibilities in a Startup Environment: In a startup environment, the Maintenance Technician will adapt quickly to changes, lead in developing and optimizing new processes, and identify opportunities for innovation and improvement. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, managing inventory and resources efficiently, and troubleshooting unexpected challenges. You will also contribute to scaling Lab processes and Method Transfers, participate in diverse tasks to support the dynamic needs of the startup, and ensure the sustainability and scalability of all procedures as the company grows. Specific activities would include FAT, SAT, CQV, media fills and engineering runs.
• Install, troubleshoot, repair and perform preventative/predictive maintenance in a safe manner on a wide variety of equipment and utility systems utilizing strong electrical, mechanical and PLC skills.
• Participate in safety programs to meet program requirements and contribute to the growth of our site's safety culture.
• Maintain records and complete paperwork in accordance with all regulatory requirements.
• Improve equipment/system maintenance; develop predictive and preventative maintenance programs.
• Determine parts required for repairs and submit requisition. Primary equipment to be serviced includes bioreactors, fermenters, centrifuges, CIP systems, purified water systems, chemistry control lab systems, neutralization systems, kill systems.
• Understand Site SOPs and cGMPs relative to the position and work within compliance of those standards.
• Complete paperwork/data entry in accordance with regulatory compliance.

Education and Experience:

• Required: High School Diploma or GED.
• Two years' experience in the electro/mechanical, electronics, refrigeration or other applicable field.
• Preferred: Associate's degree from an accredited technical/trade school in the electro/mechanical, electronics, refrigeration or other applicable field with 2 years industrial experience.
• Preferred: Boiler Operator Certification

Technical Skills and Competence Required:

• Understand Site SOPs and cGMPs relative to the position and work within compliance of those standards.
• Knowledge of basic utilities (Example: plant steam, compressed air, water for injection, etc.)
• Complete paperwork/data entry in accordance with regulatory compliance.
• Demonstrated knowledge in relevant technical areas.
• Cognizance of the state-of-the-art technology in the industry to ensure the company utilizes current technology.
• Good communication and organizational skills as well as the ability to interact with all levels of the Zoetis organization.
• Willingness to assist other technicians with work tasks as needed, a solid team player.
• Can analyze problems and provide support in determining appropriate corrective and preventative actions, with minimal assistance.
• Capable of simultaneously managing multiple assignments.
• Prioritizes own work. Flexible and responsive to changes.
• Ability to competently operate and have a working knowledge of hand and power tools.
• Computer literacy in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook.
