Job Summary:

OEM Solutions Group provides integrated solutions for OEM applications leveraging Cat® components and machines. OEM strives to solve customer problems while generating profitable and sustainable growth for Caterpillar and OEMs. OEM Solutions utilizes the CAT dealer channel as well as a direct path to market for OEM Customers. This role will be responsible for supporting third party operations and quality. This role will also be accountable to lead projects related to process and cost improvement in the manufacturing engineering space.

What You Will Do:

• Providing technical expertise and guidance in major manufacturing projects, working with internal/external suppliers to support/improve manufacturing productivity and cost effectiveness.
• Communicating with suppliers to analyze their current or proposed product/process designs to determine feasibility of using existing designs or modifying the designs to improve process and/or product.
• Providing guidance to manufacturing engineers and operators in order to develop high quality products and processes.

• Work closely with cross functional teams in the areas of engineering, orders to delivery, purchasing, and commercial.

• Accountable for managing quality for OEM Solutions third party warehouses and assembly facilities

• Will support NPI and implement quality checks and procedures to ensure the customer received a quality product.

Education Requirement:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in areas of assembly, machining, welding, engineering or manufacturing engineering.

Project Management:
• Identifies project management tools and requirements within own function.

• Gives examples of critical paths in projects.

Manufacturing Best Practices and Standards:
• Cites examples of industry best practices and their relevance to the organization.
• Identifies the expected benefits of implementing best practices.
• Locates and interprets best practice documentation and information sources.
• Names the manufacturing processes that can be streamlined from the implementation of best practices.

Manufacturing Process Design and Development:
• Cites examples of successful design or development of manufacturing processes.
• Lists essential steps in designing a manufacturing process.
• Records and documents any data related to manufacturing processes.
• Understands the purpose of process design in manufacturing.

Capacity Planning & Management - MFG:
• Documents major considerations of product promotions and analyzes their effect on production and required capacity.
• Provides management reports on actual and projected capacity requirements.
• Uses available tools to interpret forecasts and work out required capacity.
• Participates in developing short-term capacity requirements for a specific product or plant.
• Collects and collates key elements of demand chain used in developing capacity requirements.

Change Control - MFG:
• Explains the basic purpose of change control and consequences of lack of control.
• Identifies common changes to manufacturing equipment, technologies and systems.
• Describes the process for introducing any change to a production environment.
• Describes the associated communication requirements, activities and authorization levels.

Lean Manufacturing:
• Discusses considerations for work cell design and effectiveness monitoring.
• Finds solution for key technical and people problems associated with transformation to lean.
• Explains issues and considerations of implementing lean in own function or area.
• Selects and utilizes tools, techniques and measurements associated with a lean assessment.
• Explains benchmarks and measures of effectiveness of lean.

Additional Information

The location for this position is Mossville, IL.

Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Any relocation costs incurred would be the responsibility of the selected candidate.

This position may require less than 10% travel.
